September 2013 Housing Report

 

In September, 7,411 sales were reported through the TorontoMLS system. Total sales were up 30 per cent compared to September 2012. The average selling price in September was $533,797 representing an increase of 6.5 per cent year-over-year. The increase of sales occurred in all major house types.

 

According to Jason Mercer, TREB’s Senior Manager of Market Analysis, the price growth in September was driven by the strong demand in low-raise home types and the short of supply. This trend will continue in the rest of 2013.
